About the farm
Founded in 2019, Hogan Farms is a family-run pig farm based in New Italy, NSW, specialising in heritage breed English Large Black pigs. Raised in a 100% free-range environment, the pigs are given space to roam and are cared for with animal welfare at the heart of the farm. Their diet includes locally sourced fruit, vegetables, bread and grains, helping rescue quality surplus food that may otherwise go to landfill. Hogan Farms combines traditional farming with practical sustainability, producing quality Australian pork with a clear connection to the farm, the animals and the local Northern Rivers community behind every product.

Hogan Farm is a family-owned farm established in 2019 in New Italy, NSW. Dedicated to ethical and sustainable farming, the Hogan family proudly raises heritage-breed English Large Black pigs in a genuine 100% free-range environment.
Their pigs have plenty of space to roam, forage and express their natural behaviours while enjoying a wholesome diet of locally sourced fruits, vegetables, bread and grains. Much of this food is quality surplus produce rescued from nearby farms and local businesses, helping reduce unnecessary landfill waste.
At Hogan Farm, animal welfare, sustainability and responsible farming are at the heart of everything they do—producing exceptional pork while caring for the animals, the land and the local community.
Farm story
At Hogan Farm, we proudly raise heritage-breed English Large Black pigs. Known for their calm nature, hardiness and excellent foraging ability, they are ideally suited to our 100% free-range farming system.
Their distinctive large ears help protect their eyes while foraging, and their dark skin provides greater protection from the Australian sun. They thrive outdoors, naturally exploring the paddocks and enjoying a varied diet of locally sourced fruits, vegetables, bread and grains.
We chose the English Large Black because it supports our commitment to animal welfare, sustainable farming and exceptional pork with rich flavour, tenderness and quality.

Hogan Farm is proudly family-owned and operated in New Italy, NSW. Since 2019, the Hogan family has worked together to raise their pigs with genuine care, patience and respect.
Being family run means every part of the farm is personal—from feeding and checking the animals to caring for the land and producing quality pork. Their hands-on approach ensures the pigs receive the attention they deserve while allowing the family to stay true to their values of ethical farming, sustainability and animal welfare.
